In my opinion, a lot of it has to do with the fact that these people did not have clearly defined goals and that they did not have a daily work schedule. Why is this so important?
If you are just getting started within the Internet marketing industry event odds are you want to try to get started on the so-called "right" foot. Okay -- here's how you do that. First, spend some time away from the computer deciding what your goals will be. This does not have to be elaborate. Just write down in a couple of sentences what you're trying to achieve as an Internet marketer. Next, spend some time putting together a day-to-day action plan that will move you incrementally closer to your goal every day. Does this make sense?
